The stamps celebrate the enduring legacy of Western, which hits close to home for me. My grandfather passed away when I was months old, so I don’t have any memories of him. But I have been told countless stories about him. Jack was a postmaster in Logan, New Mexico, for over two decades. He also worked on a ranch. I also heard he could whip a rattlesnake so hard its head would snap off. I’m unsure how true that is, but I choose to believe it. Even though I never had an opportunity to know him, I felt closer to him through the process of making the art for these stamps.
